November Update

Hello subscribers!

We hope your last month has been swell! With the farm wrapped up and a bit of a break from the market, Carlos has been hard at work in the kitchen, compiling stock of the favourite condiments and sauces, and adding in a few new additions. Come by one of our upcoming markets to try the caramelized onion jam! (Onion jam not pictured, the photo to the left is our tomato relish).

A note from Carlos

I have decided to postpone the celebration of life for my dad. Back when I settled on Nov 11 as a suitable date, it seemed to me that I’d have time to plan/organize something. I thought this would buy me time to prep/cook/package all our new condiments and have some time to spare. Well, here we are, first week of November, and that certainly doesn’t feel like the case. The last few weeks have passed in a flash, and I haven't done any planning or preparation for this. In light of that, I’d like to set this gathering back once again.

Thank you to all who have reached out or inquired. Instead, I’m making an effort to be OK with “doing less”, so I’ll be taking time to actually rest and enjoy my mom’s company.  (She’s here for a few weeks, so come say hi at our markets!).

While the farm is mostly wrapped up, but Carlos is still savouring some sunny days of carrot harvesting!

Reminder that we are back at the indoor farmer’s market at Parkinson Rec Centre, and the following Christmas market schedule:

  • this Sunday, Nov 9th - Delta Grand

  • Fri-Sat, Nov 21st-22nd -Holiday Magic @ the Rotary Centre for the Arts

  • Fri, Sat, Sun Dec 5th, 6th, 7th - Christkindl Market @ the Laurel Packing House

  • Sat, Sun Dec 13th-14th - Last Chance Penticton Trade Convention Centre

Cheers,

-OKHP Crew
