Sept 19: Put Seeds in the Ground

a note from Carlos

“Through the last few weeks, I’ve been feeling quite grateful for the community forming around me and my farm business. The farmers’ Market has proven to be a great support network. It's been encouraging to feel the empathy and compassion from fellow vendors and customers alike.

These positive interactions have given me the strength and motivation to continue to put seeds in the ground for fall harvests.

Furthermore, I am grateful for the support of my team members: Amanda, Janna, and Ona. They've been indispensable over the last few weeks, when my head has been cloudy at best.

Thank you.”

Wednesday Volunteer Crew

We’ve been winding down the farm and finally getting to some of those tasks that throughout the summer you say, “ah, that can wait” thanks to some wonderful volunteers who have been committed over the past few weeks to coming at sunset, catching up on the week and weeding away.

As for market news, for all those asking, we have heads of lettuce again! Along with the go-to Herb Salad for all your crispy, crunchy, leafy needs.

We will also be offering up our handy, dandy ready-2-chop ingredient bundles:

  • Sauce Pack: basil, garlic, onion, dried oregano, bayleaf & Sunrise sauce tomatoes

  • Potato Pack: Rosemary, chives, onions, garlic, fingerling potatoes

  • Salsa Pack: Midnight Roma tomatoes, yellow & green jalapeños, Little Schack cilantro, garlic, onion & red pepper

Come say hi! Enjoy the soft warm September days while they last.

See ya soon,

-OKHP Crew
